Cascadia Resilience Campaign ISO talented project quarterback
An ambitious collaborative project at the Mercy Corps Action Center seeks a creative and energetic project manager to help us launch a public exhibit and events campaign in record time.
Mercy Corps, Oregon Red Cross, the US Geological Survey, and the Portland Bureau of Emergency Management have joined forces to create the Cascadia Resilience Campaign (the "other" CRC) to raise public awareness of earthquake risks and resilience opportunities in the Portland metro area and throughout Oregon. The partners are working to create exhibit content and to plan a series of public events (lectures, readings, panel presentations, neighborhood walking tours, etc.) that will be hosted at the Mercy Corps Action Center (45 SW Ankeny) roughly between March and June 2012.
We seek a part-time (up to half-time) project manager to work closely with the project steering committee beginning in February to pull the pieces together, keep the partners on task, and design and help execute a public outreach strategy for the campaign.
We offer no compensation -- but excellent professional contacts, prominent public recognition for the sponsoring business or firm at the public exhibit and at all campaign events, and the satisfaction of helping to
advance Portland's ability to prepare for this under-appreciated risk to our economic and community well-being.
