For the fourth consecutive year Dick Hannah Dealerships will be giving local high school students the chance to WIN A BRAND NEW CAR or $15,000. Any registered student who elevates their GPA by .5 between their first and last semesters / trimesters OR attains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 for the 2012 - 2013 academic school year AND attends the drawing event at Washington State University Vancouver on July 11, 2013 is eligible to win. WHAT IS STRIVE 2 DRIVE?
The STRiVE 2 DRiVE is a second-semester academic achievement initiative designed to encourage full-time high school students to improve their grades, offering those who do a chance to win a new 2013 car or a check for $15,000.

An educational symposium presented by Summa Institute

We must respond to the problem of bullying. In order to strengthen the conversation, Summa Institute has gathered renowned educators and community leaders for a symposium on successful responses to bullying that is FREE and open to all.

There is hope. With their years of experience and work with many constituencies our panel will tell us what works, why it works, and how we can all participate in solving the problem. Plus, there will be plenty of time for Q & A.

Each year, in communities across the county, dynamic, passionate individuals engage in a spirited competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Man & Woman of the Year" titles by raising funds for blood cancer research. Please join us for an evening in the Discovery Museum after hours! The World Forestry Center Discovery Museum is opening its doors for a special Museum by Moonlight event dedicated to Ansel Adams.

On Thursday, May 30, art lovers can enjoy an evening in the museum with those 21+. Price also includes admission to the museum’s special exhibit, “Ansel Adams: Distance and Detail.” Drawn from the art collection of Bank of America, this exhibition includes thirty of Adams’ most iconic photographs.

Check out these great exhibitors on hand at the event: Barefoot Wine & Bubbly will be donating samples and pours so get Barefoot and have a great time. Oakshire Brewing will be sampling their year-round Watershed IPA, Overcast Espresso Stout, Oakshire Amber and their seasonal Line Dry Rye Pale Ale. Try all four!

About the exhibit: Ansel Adams (1902-1984), photographer, environmentalist, and social activist, is recognized as one of America’s foremost photographers. HIs life’s work established photography as a truly legitimate art form, inspiring new ways of seeing and communicating. His long career represents a prolific and rich contribution to American culture including many hundreds of images that continue to profoundly influence the practice of the art of photography to this day. Drawn from the art collection of Bank of America, this exhibition includes thirty of Adams’ most iconic photographs.

Supervisors can't avoid inadvertent legal violations if they don't know the law. This interactive program for HR managers and their supervisors will teach the basics of employment law and HR best practices, with a special focus on avoiding retaliation claims, the most frequently filed claim with the EEOC in 2012.
